Ofsted
Our latest Ofsted inspection took place in May 2023 and again the school was rated as 'GOOD'.
The main points were as follows:
- Pupils appreciate the support and care they receive from adults, and they feel safe and ready to learn.
- Pupils are kind, welcoming to new pupils, and respond well to behaviour reminders from adults.
- The school provides a range of facilities and learning opportunities, including before/after-school activities and community events.
- The revised curriculum has ambitious goals, but implementation is still in the early stages in some subjects, leaving gaps in pupils' knowledge.
- Reading is a priority, but the weakest readers are not always given the right support to catch up quickly.
- In early years, children are not always taught the specific subject knowledge needed to be fully prepared for the Year 1 curriculum.
- Leaders are mindful of staff well-being and workload, and governors hold leaders accountable.
- Safeguarding arrangements are effective, with staff training, systems to manage concerns, and a focus on keeping pupils safe.
